Our Performance Copper Mountain Snowmobiling Tours offer the highest guided riding in the state of Colorado. Based atop the summit of Fremont Pass, these tours climb to an elevation of over 12,500 feet above sea level. Riders can explore an array of high alpine terrain including mountain meadows, forested hillsides, and powder-filled backcountry bowls — all from one of the most spectacular vantage points in the Rocky Mountains.
Performance Tours start with a brief tutorial covering the operation and handling of your snowmobile, followed by a short ride to a practice area. Here you’ll master the handling of your machine before climbing through snow-covered forests towards the Continental Divide.
Performance Guided Snowmobile Tours at Fremont Pass, Copper Mountain Colorado
Upon reaching the treeline, you’ll leave the forests below and experience incredible high-altitude snowmobiling on mountain passes crisscrossing the Continental Divide. As the tour ascends to Chicago Ridge, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of Colorado’s two highest peaks — Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive. The wide-open nature of this terrain provides plenty of room to open up your snowmobile’s throttle, carve turns off the surrounding mountainsides, and explore deep powder fields that few riders ever get to experience.
Whether you’re an experienced snowmobiler or tackling high alpine terrain for the first time, the Performance Tour delivers an unforgettable Colorado backcountry experience. The combination of world-class terrain, expert local guides, and stunning Rocky Mountain scenery makes this one of the most popular guided snowmobile tours near Copper Mountain and Frisco, Colorado.
Fremont Pass & Chicago Ridge — Colorado’s Premier Snowmobile Terrain
Fremont Pass sits at the heart of some of Colorado’s most iconic high alpine terrain. At over 11,300 feet at the base alone, this location offers snowmobiling conditions that are simply unmatched anywhere in the state. The pass sits along the Continental Divide and serves as the gateway to Chicago Ridge — a sweeping alpine ridgeline that stretches above 12,500 feet and offers riders a seemingly endless playground of powder bowls, open meadows, and dramatic mountain terrain.
The area surrounding Fremont Pass receives some of the deepest and most consistent snowfall in Colorado, thanks to its high elevation and position along the Continental Divide. This means reliable conditions throughout the winter season and consistently deep powder that makes every ride on the Performance Tour a genuinely exceptional experience. Whether you’re here in early December or late March, Fremont Pass delivers the kind of backcountry snowmobiling that riders travel from across the country to experience.
